Position Summary


The Aircraft Technician is responsible for repair, maintenance, and upkeep of aircraft for the Maintenance Department of Chicago Jet Group, LLC (hereafter referred to as CJG).


As a member of the Maintenance Department, this individual contributor role performs all functions in the repair and maintenance of aircraft, which includes dismantling, repairing, and assembly.


Responsibilities:


Key duties of an Aircraft Technician are:

  • Perform all phases of repair, maintenance or modification on aircraft systems or component parts. Performs inspection, operational checks, ground handling, servicing, and the exchange or replacement of components as required.
  • Performs operational checks, and post modification testing.
  • Troubleshoot and repair systems on aircraft.
  • Perform all work in a prompt timely manner, adhering to all attendance reliability policies and procedures.
  • Exercise the authority of an Airman Certificate (Repairman or Airframe and/or Powerplant) in signing the corrective action in maintenance documents or aircraft maintenance log for airworthiness release or return to service, ensuring such is in accordance with CJG policies and procedures.
  • Act as cockpit coordinator, when assigned, to ensure safe operation of aircraft systems (e.g., flight controls, electrical, landing gear) from the flight deck.
  • Ensure that a clean, safe, and orderly work area is maintained at all times. Ensure that good housekeeping practices are performed at all times.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspection, maintenance, repair and modification on aircraft electrical and avionics systems and in accordance with the applicable Federal Air Regulations (FARs) and the Repair Station Quality Manual (RSQM)
  • Become familiar with and follow the requirements of this RSQM, Federal Aviation Regulations, Airworthiness Directives, Advisory Circular, manufacturer's service bulletins and any other required references to perform their assigned work.
  • Never begin any maintenance unless in possession of the proper, current and applicable approved or acceptable data.
  • Ensure the work area is kept to the highest standards of safety, compliant at all times, enforcing regulations and practices to avoid accidents.
  • Perform the proper tagging of Aircraft components, parts and panels appropriately stored (including racks by aircraft).
  • Perform documentation procedures and signoffs in accordance with Repair Station Manual and respective task requirements.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are correctly used and handled for both safety and to reduce breakages, wear and tear.
  • Ensure tooling, GSE and ground equipment is returned to its proper storage area following use.
  • Strive for continuous process improvements and increasing efficiencies in execution and delivery with safety as a priority.
  • Take part in any required training as determined by the company. Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Minimum Qualifications
Aircraft maintenance experience on current fleet types being maintained or modified by the Repair Station.

  • Dassault Aviation Mystere-Falcon 50
  • Dassault Aviation Mystere-Falcon 900
Experience in custom aircraft systems installations and sheet metal experience a plus.


Knowledge and Skills Requirements
Able to perform intermediate/major/heavy aircraft maintenance tasks without direct supervision.


Understand specific design and operation of installed aircraft systems to enable effective troubleshooting, repair and modification of wiring and components.

Must be able to read and speak English proficiently.

Proven ability to work alone and in a team environment.

Effective decision-making skills.
