GENERAL :

Pest Hunters Unlimited is seeking an experienced Commercial Pesticide Applicator (CPA) to join our team with potential future ownership opportunities.

The licensed Commercial Pesticide Applicator will provide general supervision of all qualified team members and will join in performing integrated pest management services in the prevention, control and elimination of insects, vermin and other pests from residential, commercial, manufacturing, institutional and public buildings, as well as surrounding areas including but not limited to parks, playgrounds and yards.

The CPA is, also, responsible for the selection and preparation of poisonous insecticides, rodenticides, baits, traps, etc.

used in exterminating; the preparation of service reports; record keeping of equipment and rodenticide/insecticides/baits usage; work schedules; tracking of all exterminating operations; and the performing of any other related pest control duties as assigned or required.

This supervisory role will incorporate the planning and scheduling, organizing, directing and controlling of all pest activities on all monthly, weekly or daily portfolio buildings being services, whether under construction or occupied.


Essential Duties/Major Responsibilities (any or all duties may be performed):

  • Oversee day-to-day field activities
  • Supervise the activities of Pest Control Technicians and Pest Apprentices
  • Coordinate activities with the General Contractor field team for those TenantinPlace Moderate Rehab or Gut-Rehab projects
  • Coordinate activities with Property Management company for the occupied building portfolios
  • Monitor and report on project progress
  • Keep track of pesticides / rodenticides used
  • Recommend pest treatment and elimination options
  • Set traps and baits in the infested area and pesttype requirements
  • Physically remove trapped or exterminated pests
  • Perform Exclusion: prevent pest reentry with materials like door sweeps, copper mesh, steel wool, caulking, etc.
  • Conduct and follow workplace health and safety procedures, including the use of PPE
  • Follow pesticide safety instructions and procedure
  • Prepare cost estimates and project budgets, as required
  • Coordinate service with Tenants/Customers and handle complaints professionally
  • Inspect buildings for unwanted pest activity and infestation
  • Identify types of insects, animals and other pests
  • Report, in real time, any issues that may arise, at the job site, throughout the course of a day
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health and quality standards as per New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and any other agencies with jurisdiction
  • Ensure compliance with COVID protocols when required
  • Purchase small materials, as required, for realtime usage
  • Resolve onsite issues and Emergencies
  • Complete required daily Service Reports and procedures
  • Maintain site records
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Minimum Qualifications:


  • Previous experience as a Pesticide Technician or Commercial Pesticide Applicator or in a similar role
  • Indepth understanding of pest control operations and processes
  • Organization and timemanagement skills
  • Proficient with taking and uploading digital photographs
  • Able to interpret and build upon observed pest issues
  • Able to troubleshoot difficult pest problems
  • Able to handle conflict situations with tenant/customer, and exposed to people that may be unpleasant, angry, or rude
  • Coordinate service with tenants / customers and handle complaints professionally
  • Work as part of a team

Special Requirements:


  • Valid certificate as a Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator for Industrial, Institutional, Structural and Rodent Control (7A) issued by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, which must be maintained during the duration of employment
  • Valid New York driver's license
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 40 Hour OSHA Card (Can be obtained while in employment)

Physical Activities:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand for long periods of time and talk or hear, and to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is required to walk the site grounds and structures, and up and down stairs to reach area(s) to be serviced.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.


Work Environment:


  • Working outdoors and indoors
  • Often exposed to sounds and noise levels, that are distracting and uncomfortable, while performing pest control services at construction sites
  • Wear protective equipment often, such as hard hats, work boots, long sleeved shirts, gloves, masks, etc. when servicing a construction site or an existing occupied structure
