Summary:


Typical Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Prepares moderately difficult to complex engineering and construction drawings for a complete project phase, utilizing manual and computerassisted drafting/design techniques. The incumbent is given a set of preliminary drawings, outline specifications and project estimates prepared during the Step 1 process to which his/her drawings must conform.
  • Review the manufacturer's or fabricators' prints for conformance with spatial conformity of the proposed layout.
  • Performs routine checking and verification tasks, including coordination with other disciplines to ensure that conflicts and interferences are avoided and that building equipment can be accommodated.
  • Must keep current on the latest developments and materials to produce the most economical and reliable systems possible.
  • Supports field assignments as required and helps to resolve issues during construction as they arise.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • This is the transitional position where the incumbent is expected to begin developing a working knowledge of fundamental design concepts but is also expected to be versatile in performing seniorlevel drafting assignments. Typically requires a high school graduate with votech (vocational and technical) training in basic drafting technology and usually 610 years related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience), or a 2year degree in drafting/design technology and 58 years related experience. Incumbents must demonstrate proficiency in utilizing CADD equipment for a variety of assignments.

$62, $75,194.54 per year
