- Responsible for supporting the planning and scheduling process of inventory and goods.
- Issue production orders within the planning horizon.
- Maintain production order travelers and tracking information.
- Maintain daily schedule boards.
- Control and track expedited production orders.
- Review demand, rates of sale, inventory on hand and material levels, within SAP B1 MRP system.
- Participate in communications with Customer Service on current and expected demand requirements.
- Provide administrative support to Bill of Material, Item Master, Item Planning, and other database maintenance.
- Maintain planning and scheduling reports.
- Administrative project support.
- Inventory support (data entry, physical inventory, and cycle counts)
- Monitor daily order entry reports and communicate scheduling problems and concerns to management.
- Participates in Inventory Control procedures, such as Product Inspections, Quality Sampling, Cycle Counts, and Physical Inventory.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Management.
- Performs the administrative and operational functions to support production planning.
- Production order management and administration including item file setup, writing down orders, and tracking cancellations and additional orders.
- Preparation of inventory reports for Planning, Accounting, Sales, Operations, and Management.
- Manage and schedule the open boxes process.
- Basic Planning and Scheduling Skills

- Proficiency with advanced MS Excel skills and intermediate skills in MS Office Suite.

- Standard office equipment utilized (computer, telephone, calculator, photocopier, and fax machine).
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in Planning or Manufacturing preferred.
- Demonstrated experience using MRP/ERP systems REQUIRED, SAP B1 a plus.
- Experience with supply chain, inventory cycles, usage rates, month supplies, and inventory turns.
- Lean and 6 sigma experience a plus.
- Basic understanding of Inventory cycle, usage rates, month's supply, and inventory turns.

PURPOSE:
The Production Planner & Inventory Specialist is responsible for supporting the planning and scheduling of Finished Goods and Capacity within the Manufacturing Process of quality outdoor furniture. Included in this role are production order entry, production order issuing, review of the released production orders, and assistance with inventory control.
