Quality Assurance Warranty Specialist:


Headquartered in Coventry Rhode Island, Seaside Casual Furniture manufactures outdoor furniture from EnviroWood, an all-weather, low-maintenance, eco-friendly material made from recycled bottles and jugs.

PURPOSE:


As the Quality Assurance Warranty Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in managing warranties, returns, open box items, and inspections and will be an integral part of our customer support and quality assurance team.

As our go-to expert in quality assurance, you'll ensure that all products meet our high standards and adhere to warranty policies.

Your primary responsibility will be providing timely and detailed support to our customer service team, assisting them with clear written or verbal communication.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Handles warranty & returns in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Handmaking, opening items, or inspection of parts to fulfill open service calls.
  • Monitor pending service calls for ontime delivery.
  • Boxing and handling of outgoing parts to customers.
  • Assists in making judgment calls on how to handle all warranties & returns.
  • Communicates with various departments to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Maintains a clear and accurate record of any items going into open box or 2nds.
  • Assists with the incoming open box from the production floor.
  • Assists with the paperwork of all open boxes in conjunction with the Production Planner.
  • Handle incoming returns and provide disposition to Customer Service for credit.
  • Assists in inspections of incoming items (Hardware, Aluminum, Taps, Overseas Shipments, etc.).
  • Assists with quality control spot inspections or customer inspections.
  • Makes judgment calls on when inventory should be pulled to "Quality Control Hold".

OTHER JOB DUTIES:


  • Ability to work overtime. Occasional Saturdays


All other duties - Perform all other duties as assigned including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills, and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned tasks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • May lift to 30 lbs. routinely.
  • Stand on their feet for a prolonged amount of time.
  • Performing repetitive actions that entail frequent lift need to bend, lift, carry, and stretch to perform their duties.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions and inspect parts produced.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:


  • High School Graduation or equivalent.
  • 3 years' experience working in a Quality Assurance or Warranty position.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Exposure to SolidWorks, preferred.
  • SAP experience, preferred.
  • Handson carpentry, woodworking, and/or assembly craftsmanship skills required.
  • Hand & power tool experience required.
  • Forklift experience, a plus.
