    Overview:

    Directs the maintenance and improvement operations of YMCA facilities and vehicles, including preventative maintenance and related budgets.

    Responsibilities:
    • Hire, train, and supervise assigned staff.
    • Provides leadership to key staff on a consistent basis, giving direction and developing performance expectations in the areas of turf field management, ice operations, aquatics and facility management/operations.
    • Provides overall coordination of facility maintenance, including planning and developing
      preventative maintenance.
    • Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner. Oversees all contractors that work in the facility and grounds.
    • Responsible for requesting and reviewing bids in order to give recommend solutions when repairs cannot be performed by YMCA staff.
    • Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
    • Develops budgets supporting the preventative and annual maintenance plans and monitors expenditures against budget.
    • Participates with other members of management in the YMCAs fundraising campaign.
    • Attends properties staff meetings and shares updates regarding repairs and upcoming projects.
    • Advises management on maintenance issues and projects as requested.
    • Ensures that assigned vehicles (and other equipment) are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA.
    • Responsible for snow removal so the property stays accessible for emergencies.
    • Updates facility plans periodically. May develop annual plan of capital projects, consistent with the YMCAs strategic plan and community needs.
    • Completes other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications:
    1. Three or more years experience in facility management or closely related field.
    2. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas.
    3. Skills in supervision, budget management and project management.
    4. CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of employment.
    5. CPO certifications required within 120 days of employment.
    6. Water treatment and testing certifications required within 120 days of employment.
    7. Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards.
    8. Familiarity with personal computers helpful.
    9. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.

    Benefits:

    All Employees receive a free individual membership and anyone working 10+ hours receives a free family membership, 50-100% off our programs and if eligible, we contribute the equivalent of 10% of your salary to the YMCA Retirement Fund.

    Full-time employees enjoy a minimum of 3 weeks of paid vacation, 88 hours of paid sick time, and 8 paid holidays per year. Free YMCA programs include: after-school programs, Camp NOCO traditional day camp, youth sports, learn to skate, and swim lessons. Discounted YMCA programs include: preschool, YMCA Camp Santa Maria overnight camp, personal training, and specialty summer camps. The Y offers generous medical, dental, and vision benefits. We provide long-term disability and life insurance at no cost to full-time employees.

    Childcare benefits of more than $5000 are considered taxable income and will be processed accordingly. Limitations and restrictions apply to some programs.
