    The Chemistry Department at Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore invites applications for a full-time, three-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry to begin August 2023.

    The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in Chemistry (ABD considered), evidencing a strong background in Physical Chemistry and/or Analytical Chemistry. Principal teaching responsibilities will include Physical Chemistry I and II, Analytical Chemistry and Instrumental Analysis along with introductory courses in chemistry. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and excellent teaching ability. All NDMU faculty members must have facility in teaching across varied course delivery modes, and they must be comfortable with online learning systems. Prior college-level teaching experience is expected. Post-doctoral research experience preferred.

    The candidate must be familiar with standards for compliance with all related federal, state and local regulatory guidelines including but not limited to FERPA and Title IX; all faculty must complete a University laboratory safety training program in order to provide a safe learning environment for students in the natural sciences.

Faculty are expected to be deeply involved in the life of the University, including advising students, supporting the work of faculty committees, and participating in major University events.
