Description

As an occupational therapist at Eagle Creek Colony, you will support children, adolescents, and adults in leading as independent a life as possible - in everyday life, at work, and in leisure time.

This includes teaching stroke patients techniques to dress themselves despite paralysis, or helping wheelchair users with training to move more safely.

In work therapy, you use specific exercises to help people with intellectual disabilities or mental illnesses adapt to structured daily routines.

While you work closely with doctors and other therapists, you also have a high level of independence and responsibility.

To help your patients manage their daily lives without outside assistance, you work with them to create an individualized therapy plan and implement it.

You always keep the whole person and their personal life situation in mind.

You will apply your knowledge in practice from the very beginning. In our specially equipped practice rooms, you will practice treatment techniques. Of course, you will also go out into the professional world. During your internships in medical and social facilities, you will apply what you have learned to real patients. You will also gain insight into different fields of work and make valuable contacts for your future career.
