Description
About us
The Lebenshilfe is a self-help organization, parent, professional and provider association for people with intellectual disabilities and their families.

The local association in Essen was founded in 1961 by parents of intellectually disabled individuals and has developed over the years into a provider of various residential, service and support offerings.

Our goal is to empower people with disabilities to determine and shape their own lives as much as possible, and to have the right to participate in society.

Our team of over 450 qualified employees work tirelessly towards this goal every day. We provide inclusive education and care for children aged 3-6 years, with and without special needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing educational activities, taking into account the interests and learning needs of the children
  • Implementing the educational framework concept and shaping the profile of the facility
  • Documenting the individual learning and development processes of the children

Requirements:

  • Completed vocational training as an educator, special education teacher, childhood educator, or social care worker
  • Relevant practical experience and a friendly demeanor
  • Social competence and the ability to empathize, as well as assertiveness
  • Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to work in a structured manner with a clear sense of priorities

If you would like to support us with your skills and experience, we welcome you to join our team and find your new professional home with us.
