_We are an employee owned co-operative looking for socially conscious, progressive individuals.

Our work focuses on the sustainable design, install and maintenance of ornamental, edible, medicinal gardens, native meadows, no-mow lawns, natural screening, and custom stone work.

This position runs from January to December.

We are looking for a highly skilled human resources professional to assist with employee relations, company policies & practices to facilitate our ongoing growth & to help us thrive.

Role:

  • Identify & evaluate hiring & promotion needs
  • Develop recruitment strategy, interview schedules & evaluation standards in accordance with HR methodologies, labor laws & evolving business needs
  • Provide or facilitate mediation for employee disputes and recommend solutions which align with company procedure & individual needs
  • In collaboration with committees & management, develop & implement accountability systems to ensure employees follow all policies & procedures
  • Assess reports provided by committees, team leaders & operations managers to determine employee performance & training needs
  • Recommend changes in policies & procedures to the BOD, based on employee & company needs
  • Research compensation standards set by industry & governing bodies in order to create salary structures & administer employee benefits
  • Periodically attend interdepartmental meetings with other managers
  • Oversee exit interviews & procedures

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Has 3 years experience in HR
  • Effective & clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to navigate employee conflict utilizing Non-Violent Communication skills
  • Active & engaged problem solver
  • Familiar & up to date with NY state labor laws
  • Ability to prioritize daily work flow and meet various seasonal deadlines
  • Willingness & ability to quickly learn computer software utilized by company
Competitive pay, compensation is negotiable depending on experience. Applications for Ownership accepted after 1 year of employment.
