Description
Our well-established ear, nose and throat and audiology practice needs an experienced part-time Medical Receptionist who can take over the administrative duties involved with coordinating patient and physician/audiologist schedules as well as data entry, payment processing, file management and office organization.
We are looking for a compassionate professional with excellent communication skills. The job includes significant amounts of multi-tasking and requires attention to detail.Responsibilities include:
Answer phones and schedule patient appointments
Determine if practice participates with patient's insurance
Greet patients upon arrival in office
Provide patients with registration forms, obtain insurance information and enter data in computer
Process payments from patients for co-pays and uninsured visits
Assist with medical coding
Run and balance end of day reports
File and maintain patient charts
Call patients to remind them of upcoming appointments
Schedule testing for off-site services and obtain pre-certification for these services when necessary
Provide patients with support and guidance as needed
Cross train for medical assisting
Shared office cleaning duties with staff
Skills:
High school diploma/GED required (Associate degree preferred)
1+ years' experience in medical assisting or administration
Ability to handle fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Computer literate
