    What you will do:
    Manages one or more accounting teams. Ensures organizational adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other regulatory requirements. Ensures timely preparation and review of all required regulatory filings. Advises in annual budgeting and prepare accounting reports for executive leadership. Reviews work submitted by accountants and manage accounting close processes. Performs analysis on organizational or business unit financial and accounting metrics for presentation to leadership. Manages the activities of supervisors and/or individual contributors.

    Manages staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations.

    Approves courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations. Reviews and approves time records, expense reports, requests for

    leave, and overtime.
    Prepares and / or reviews prepared journal entries and financials.
    Performs various account and business unit analyses.
    Reconciles accounts.
    Assists in the preparation of month- end and year-end financial statements and
    consolidation packages as well as general control activities.
    Works with accounting team to prepare quarterly accruals.
    Completes monthly and quarterly consolidation packages.
    Assists in miscellaneous month end and year end close activities.
    Identifies exposures and recommends corrective action to management.
    Monitors process controls to ensure compliance with SOX including internal controls.
    Responds to information requests from staff at all levels and all functions within PPD.
    Completes special projects as directed.
    Prepares reports to management summarizing activities.
    Manages responses to audit requests timely ensuring there is accurate and
    complete support

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
    Strong supervisory and management skills
    Proficiency in problem solving and prioritizing
    Work effectively with all levels of employees
    Strong knowledge of approved accounting practices including financial statement information and preparation of financial reports and statistics
    Strong analytical and quantitative skills
    Strong Microsoft Office skills for analysis and presentation of data
    Demonstrates strong presentation skills
    Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
    Excellent interpersonal skills
    Ability to multi-task and handle pressure

    Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
    Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years).
    1+ year of leadership responsibility

    In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
