Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus three (3) years of experience related to janitorial services, including two (2) years of experience which were in the operation of janitorial heavy equipment and/or machinery.
Licenses or Certifications:
- Valid Texas Class C Driver License within ninety (90) days of hire.

POSITION
OVERVIEW
This position coordinates, leads and assists staff conducting facility maintenance, security, emergency services, cleaning and moving. Acts as Supervisor in absence of Shift Supervisor. Interacts with airport tenants, passengers and other City of Austin departments on behalf of the division. Provides customer service by answering questions and providing information to all customers navigating and transitioning through the airport. Performs administrative duties and responsibilities including completing and approving forms, logs and timesheets. Stocks, orders and replenishes supplies campus-wide, inspects and maintains equipment and vehicles.
Communicates and coordinates work with Divisional Supervisors regarding events, operational matters, resolves conflicts and difficult situations, evaluates personnel performance and resolves other issues.
Observes and enforces department and facility safety and operational policies and procedures.Works in conjunction with airport personnel and assigned staff to coordinate and ensure safety and security for the airport; coordinates evacuations and isolations of airport facilities when emergency arise, e.g., security breaches, weather, fire emergencies, etc.
-DRIVER'S REQUIREMENT*
- This position must travel between various locations as part of the regular job duties and the individual will be required to drive a City vehicle. Position will also be required to drive on the AOA.
- This position requires a Valid Texas Class C Driver License or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. External New Hires must meet the
City of Austin's Driver Record Evaluation (DRE
) requisite. To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirtysix (36) months. Job Offer is contingent on having a driving record that meets the City's Driver Record Evaluation Standards.
ASSESSMENT - A skills assessment will be required for this position.
