Shift Information
Day Shift - Monday through Friday 4:30am-2:30pm PST (Swing Shift Scheduling Process) Some overtime requirements may be needed.


A day in the Life:


  • Reads, understands, and implements written SOP's, Manufacturing procedures.
  • Performs routine manufacturing/ production tasks on different product lines as assigned.
  • Handles and works with carcinogen and chemical reagents.
  • Setup and operates equipment including casting stations, refractometer and others related to assigned task.
  • Monitor inhouse inventories and supplies including cycle counts and E1 entries.
  • Assists in developing, writing, and instituting necessary documents.
  • Initiate reports related to nonconformances.
  • Solves problems related to the process, troubleshoot, and support solution generation.
  • Communicates with multiple functional groups with a variety of technical backgrounds.
  • Follows all safety requirements and escalate issues and concerns.

  • Looks for opportunities to improve process as to drive efficiencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Keys to Success:


Education & Experience
A combination of education and experience that confer the needed manufacturing, scientific, and laboratory technical skills will be considered such as:


  • High School Diploma or GED and one (1) years of related manufacturing experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong ability to write, investigative SOPs and other documents in standard English.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
  • Able to work under critical and shifting timelines while remaining productive.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency, contagious optimism and a 'can do' attitude.
  • Manufacturing experience and machine operator experience.
  • Experience with Good documentation practices.
  • Ability to work overtime and nonstandard work schedules as required to meet production schedule.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Frequently work at laboratory workstation, operating equipment, low temperature freezers, and computer workstations.
  • Some lifting of objects including laboratory instrumentation of 35 pounds.
  • Working Conditions/Physical Requirements may change as required.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. or 20 lbs. repetitively throughout the day.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator as needed.
  • Attend trainings or read content to understand and follow applicable manufacturing processes and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • The job encounters routine work situations of limited scope and complexity where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
  • Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position; errors in work could cause delays in production schedules.
  • Operator is schedule with a piece of equipment running dual shifts, punctuality is held in the highest regard.
  • Complete production schedule to plan to maintain sufficient output levels measured on an hourly basis.
  • Verbal or written communication of problems to manufacturing leadership and assistance in identifying variables and offering resolutions.
  • Escalate equipment issues to the maintenance team through verbal and written communication.
