Shift Information
Day Shift - Monday through Friday 4:30am-2:30pm PST (Swing Shift Scheduling Process) Some overtime requirements may be needed.

A day in the Life:

Reads, understands, and implements written SOP's, Manufacturing procedures.
Performs routine manufacturing/ production tasks on different product lines as assigned.
Handles and works with carcinogen and chemical reagents.
Setup and operates equipment including casting stations, refractometer and others related to assigned task.
Monitor inhouse inventories and supplies including cycle counts and E1 entries.
Assists in developing, writing, and instituting necessary documents.
Initiate reports related to nonconformances.
Solves problems related to the process, troubleshoot, and support solution generation.
Communicates with multiple functional groups with a variety of technical backgrounds.
Follows all safety requirements and escalate issues and concerns.

Looks for opportunities to improve process as to drive efficiencies.

Keys to Success:

Education & Experience
A combination of education and experience that confer the needed manufacturing, scientific, and laboratory technical skills will be considered such as:

High School Diploma or GED and one (1) years of related manufacturing experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Strong ability to write, investigative SOPs and other documents in standard English.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
Able to work under critical and shifting timelines while remaining productive.
Demonstrates a sense of urgency, contagious optimism and a 'can do' attitude.
Manufacturing experience and machine operator experience.
Experience with Good documentation practices.
Ability to work overtime and nonstandard work schedules as required to meet production schedule.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Frequently work at laboratory workstation, operating equipment, low temperature freezers, and computer workstations.
Some lifting of objects including laboratory instrumentation of 35 pounds.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements may change as required.
Must be able to lift 40 lbs. or 20 lbs. repetitively throughout the day.
Must be able to wear a respirator as needed.
Attend trainings or read content to understand and follow applicable manufacturing processes and Standard Operating Procedures.
The job encounters routine work situations of limited scope and complexity where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position; errors in work could cause delays in production schedules.
Operator is schedule with a piece of equipment running dual shifts, punctuality is held in the highest regard.
Complete production schedule to plan to maintain sufficient output levels measured on an hourly basis.
Verbal or written communication of problems to manufacturing leadership and assistance in identifying variables and offering resolutions.
Escalate equipment issues to the maintenance team through verbal and written communication.
