- Oversee and support the company's development and implementation of SMS defined by API RP 1173 and in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular safety assessments to identify any potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate safety practices into daily operations
- Analyze incident reports and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
- Provide training and support to employees on safety procedures and best practices
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve safety processes
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills
- Initiate and support the Plan, Do, Check, Act cycle for collection and evaluation of data and information
- Collect information, review, and manage the gap analysis for SMS
- Review and organize data and metrics associated with SMS elements
- Ability to learn industry standards and regulatory code pertinent to pipelines and natural gas operations including CFR Part 191, 192, 193, and 195.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Minimum 0-2 years' engineering experience in natural gas or similar industries
- Familiarity with state and federal pipeline safety regulations a plus
- Occasionally perform project management tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with both internal peers, staff of acquired entities and third-party service providers
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and use of Spire's systems such as Maximo, sharepoint and ESRI ARcGIS
- Normally works inside office surroundings but will occasionally work outdoors in the field under varying weather conditions with moderate physical exertion
- Typically Monday through Friday; hy-brid in-office/remote work schedule.
