Overview

The primary objective of this position is to provide engineering services and project management skills to implement capital projects to improve cement plant operations and profitability.

Safety Responsibilities - Understand and comply with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies to assure that environment, health and safety are the first priority of the business.

Activity support key safety initiatives at the facility and assist the department as needed to improve EHS performance and results.

Complies with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Provides engineering resources and knowledge transfer.
Evaluates equipment and components to assure project requirements are met.

Coordinates and leads field representatives, contractors, and suppliers to ensure correctness and quality of projects to include RCA and other problem solving tools.

Prepare capital project scope, cost estimates, justifications and cost control tracking to insure budgetary compliance.
Communicates and coordinates project phases with appropriate plant and corporate departments.
Provides training to plant personnel on new equipment usage.
Provides leadership to department employees by directing, coaching, supporting and delegating, as the situation requires.
Assists in the preparation of the plant's operating budget, performance plan, technical plan updating and reporting, etc.
Is available to travel approximately 5% of the time.
Must be available to work extended hours/overtime to ensure that engineering projects, demands and objectives are met.
Skills & Experience
Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
A minimum three years of work experience in related field.
Strong conceptual and operational planning skills, project management skills, budgeting and cost control methods.
Demonstrated leadership skills through personal standards of conduct, work ethics, project initiation, ability to delegate, etc.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information and instruction.
Previous experience using Microsoft Office Suites, Project and CAD.
Leadership capabilities with supervisory/managerial career

Flexible team player with strong inter-personal skills, with the ability to deal with human and technical adverse situations.
Prior work experience with managing capital projects from concept to completion preferred
Prior work experience with MAXIMO or other CMMS system preferred
