We're looking for someone to join our team as a
Learning & Development Specialist who:

Under the direction of the HR Supervisor, the Learning and Development Specialist 's role will assist in equipping employees with the skills and tools to be successful in their functions.

Also required of this role will be the ability to assist in the planning, development, implementation and facilitation of learning and development for all employees of Clinica Sierra Vista.

Included in this facilitation is the securing of grant funds to further the long-term University and Scholarship goals of the organization.

In addition, the Specialist will create learning modules using a blend of adult-centric learning tools as well as utilizing a positive and developmental approach.

Finally, the Learning and Development Specialist will assist in the continuous updating and/or redesign of existing training materials, online tools delivery, and learning documentation and tracking.


Essential Functions:


  • Embraces and promotes the strategic plan and Clinica Sierra Vista Production System (CSVPS). Champions and demonstrates the values, mission and vision of CSV including always putting the patient first.
  • Develop, implement and deliver training programs for varying levels of individuals at Clinica Sierra Vista (CSV) for Fresno and Kern Counties.
  • Responsible for ensuring all clinical and nonclinical staff are trained in the CVSPS methodology.
  • Consult with the Directors, Managers and Supervisors of CSV staff to assess training needs and develop programs to match these needs under the guidance of Director of Learning and Development.
  • Continually evaluate procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as needed.
  • In coordination with Director of Learning and Development, identify and access training needs; plan, organize, and implement specific employee development, programs and training activities, to include, but not limited to, supervisor education and performancerelated programs. Develop online support tools, as well as develop, modify and implement courses and materials for classroom delivery.
  • Oversee New Employee Orientation Program as this relates to learning and under the direction of the Director of Learning and Development, in partnership with HR and other team members.
  • Attend workshops, training, and meetings as needed, and as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Department.
  • Assist in Program support to include Microsoft products, Smartsheet's, and other emerging technologies.

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in learning or other closely related business discipling preferred and /or minimum 5 years' experience in a Learning and Development environment; or a combination thereof
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Excellent oral and written communications
  • Maintain excellent internal and external customer service at all times.
  • Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality possible when performing the functions of this department.
  • Possess the tact necessary to deal effectively with patients, providers, and employees, while maintaining confidentiality.

  • Must be reliable with attendance.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Possess knowledge of modern office equipment, systems and procedures.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a potentially stressful environment.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers.
  • Must have a pleasant, professional attitude toward patients, providers, coworkers and superiors.
