The UC Case Aide - Medical Clerk is primarily responsible for assisting the medical, educational, case management team with client transportation to appointments in the community when needed as well as maintaining accurate and timely medical records, appointments, and services in accordance with the requirements of the program.

This position is expected to function effectively with regular supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.

This individual will also be responsible for assisting the educational team in the supervision of children during field trips and in the classroom when not transporting children.

Success in this role includes flexible with understanding day to day activities may change on a moment's notice.

This individual must be open and available to assist the teams in any way needed to support the children in the program.

This position is expected to function effectively with regular supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide transportation to clients for but not limited to medical appointments, legal appointments, hearings, and other social agencies;
  • Effectively report the behavior's of children during transportation to foster parents and the treatment team;
  • Provide assistance with intake and discharge related transportation to include travel from statetostate for reunification with a sponsor;
  • Schedule, coordinate, and follow through on the medical and dental services provided to clients to assist case managers and/or agency nurse;
  • Setup and maintain the medical record for each program client;
  • Ensure the initial medical screening, TB screening, immunization records, and medical recommendations are included in the medical record and conduct frequent portal audits to ensure timely data entry;
  • Address specific medical conditions with medical providers and resources, while serving as a liaison with the provider and foster family;
  • Assist foster parents, nurse, and case managers in addressing any barriers that interfere with timely medical services for clients;
  • Assist the medical team with administrative task, as needed;
  • Provide language interpretation to clients for appointments out in the community, when needed;
  • Provide supervision of youth in the classroom, when needed;
  • Ensure professional boundaries are established and maintained at all times on the job and especially when supervising youth;
  • Maintain an adequate knowledge of trauma and attend continuous training in the Sanctuary Model of Care to ensure compliance with traumainformed environment;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish;
  • Knowledge of trauma and willing to be trained in the Sanctuary Model of Care to ensure compliance with traumainformed environment;
  • At least one (1) year of experience working with medical providers;
  • Demonstrated organizational skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must be willing and able to provide language interpretation services;
  • Must have an ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service;
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail;
  • Must be reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks;
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
  • Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany. Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage;
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
  • Documentation of immunity to vaccine preventable diseases or the willingness to receive vaccination, or seek an exemption;
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith and Mission Statement.
