- Provide aerospace engineering support for weapons stockpile through various analyses.
- Develop computational models and conduct advanced simulation using high-performance computers.
- Lead the development of weapon system models and mentor junior staff members.
- Implement analysis workflow practices and support design and testing of mechanical components.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to solve technical challenges.
- Travel as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance.
- Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Expertise in flight dynamics, aerothermodynamics, and heat transfer.
- Experience with trajectory modeling and hypersonic computational fluid dynamics software.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel as required.
- PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience in uncertainty quantification, mechanical design, and programming.

An opportunity is available for a Senior Aerospace Engineer to contribute to hypersonics and reentry programs at LLNL.
