Responsibilities:

The Custodian will ensure that the school is properly cleaned and ready for the instructional day and ensure that tasks are completed per the general or specific directions from the school principal and/or operations manager. This will include but is not limited to wiping surfaces, emptying trash, sweeping and mopping floors.
Primary quality control inspector for any cleaning services.
Maintain lost and found cart and ensure items are displayed at various events.
The Custodian will work a set schedule except during school vacations and weather emergencies, when the custodian will work hours as determined by the building principal and/or operations manager.
During snow events, the Head Custodian with coordinate with the Principal or Operations Manager to clear sidewalks and prepare school for reopening.
Ensure that exterior maintenance duties, such as trash collection and lowlevel yard maintenance such a leaf blowing and weeding around the perimeter of the building, are completed.
Oversee landscaping companies performance and report any concerns to Operations Manager or Principal
Order LCPSapproved custodial supplies through HCA's Operations Manager.
Work with the principal and/or operations manager to ensure that building checks are completed on the days that school is not in session and to develop a summer cleaning schedule.
Execute summer cleaning schedule which will entail cleaning and waxing floors, deep cleaning and some outdoor tasks such as power washing.
Setup the cafeteria for the daily lunch program and cleanup after the final lunch shift.
Monitor students during the lunch shifts and supervise volunteers in the cafeteria.
Assist with the cleanup of the kitchen and cafeteria after lunch

WORK SCHEDULE
The Head Custodian will work a 12 month schedule.

During the school year, the Custodian's schedule is aligned with the HCA Student Calendar, daily hours are 7:00AM - 3:30PM w/ 30 minute lunch break (8 hours) daily for days when teachers are expected to be on campus.

The Head Custodian will be expected to work on staff PD days, and during the summer and those hours will be assigned by the Principal or Operations Manager.
