Job Summary:

The Gift Shop Associate at Ocean Place Resort & Spa will play an integral role in creating a positive and memorable experience for our guests.

As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a well-stocked and visually appealing gift shop, and promoting and selling merchandise to hotel guests and visitors.

This full-time hourly position is based in Long Branch, New Jersey and reports to the Gift Shop Manager.

Compensation and Benefits:
This position is a full-time hourly role with competitive pay.

Responsibilities:

Greet guests and visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner, assist with their inquiries, and provide information about the products available in the gift shop
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the gift shop, ensuring all merchandise is properly displayed and stocked
Process cash, credit, and room charge transactions accurately and efficiently
Promote and sell merchandise to hotel guests and visitors, actively utilizing product knowledge and suggestive selling techniques
Monitor and track inventory levels, restocking and ordering merchandise as needed
Attend regular meetings and training sessions to stay updated on product knowledge and sales techniques
Follow all company policies and procedures, including those for safety and security
Other duties as assigned by the Gift Shop Manager or hotel management team

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 12 years of retail or sales experience preferred
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Cash handling experience and basic math skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds
Basic computer skills and knowledge of POS systems
Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times
