Claims Specialist
(CONTRACT)

Under the direction of an assigned Manager, perform a variety of specialized and analytical duties involved in auto and Workers Compensation claims; monitor, coordinate and process; maintain case history documentation; contact and interview injured workers; serve as a technical resource to employees concerning Workers Compensation.

They will be able to work with various claims systems and update claims in a timely fashion to achieve desired business outcomes.

They will have good multi-tasking skills and be detail-oriented.

Job is on-site 5 days a week.

Responsibilities:

Duties will include handling workers compensation and auto claims including bodily injury, physical damage, and property damage/liability claims
Serve as a technical resource concerning Workers' Compensation and auto claims; respond to inquiries and provide technical information concerning related laws, codes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; respond to calls from employees, thirdparty administrator, physicians, medical facilities and others
Monitor and record appropriate leave usage relative to Workers Compensation benefits; notify payroll and other appropriate personnel regarding adjustments
Reviews claims to monitor reserves for accuracy in conjunction with our claim consultants within the prescribed authority
Prepare and maintain a variety of records, case files, logs, correspondence, and files related to assigned activities; maintain OSHA records
Verifies jobrelated accidents with claimants and supervisors.
Initiates appropriate notices as needed.
Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed.
Prepare reports on account status.
Maintain relationships and communication with carriers and clients.
Attend a variety of meetings, workshops and conferences

Education and Qualifications:

1+ years experience working with auto or Workers' Compensation claims.
Preferred experience with monitoring auto claims
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to contribute to a collaborative environment by consistently demonstrating teamwork, high motivation, positive behavior, and effort to achieve goals and objectives.
Demonstrate wellorganized and disciplined work habits.
Exhibit clear, effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to actively listen problem solve and communicate effectively with both technical and business users.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and comfortable working with RMIS.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
