Harristown Care Assistants provide support to individuals who require assistance due to illness, disability, or age.

They help these individuals in their unique situations and daily lives, with a focus on promoting independence by encouraging activities such as movement and engagement.

Care can be provided in a residential, part-time, or home setting.


Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with daily personal care
  • Supporting clients and their families with household tasks
  • Providing guidance on the use of care aids
  • Completing shopping tasks
  • Storing and monitoring food and household items
  • Creating meal plans and preparing meals
  • Providing assistance with eating, if needed
  • Conducting cleaning and hygiene tasks in living, sleeping, and bathroom areas


A major advantage of this role is the opportunity to obtain a Secondary School Certificate (Realschulabschluss) with a minimum grade average of 3.0 after completing the required schooling.
