Lead Advanced Office Clerk

AAI is actively recruiting a Advanced Office Clerk Team Lead. The Team Lead shall have full authority to address all matters relating to the daily operations of this contract. Provides clerical/administrative support. Schedules appointments in Composite Health Care Systems (CHCS/AHLTA) or MHS GENESIS for primary care, specialty and subspecialty medical care. In addition to scheduling requested appointments, this position will call patients to schedule, reschedule, and/or
cancel appointments as needed, including appointments for consult/referral specialty care within the MTF. Serves as a medical records technician to process and maintain inpatient, outpatient or ambulatory procedure unit medical records. Required to compile or extract medical records data to ensure compliance with
regulatory requirements.


RESPONSIBILITIES**:


  • A fully qualified typist (computer keyboard) with a minimum of 50 WPM is required.
  • Clearly speak and understand the English language.
  • Use of standard office equipment, such as personal computers, copiers, fax machines, and telephone systems.
  • Possess general medical ethics, telephone etiquette, and excellent communication and customer service skills.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Experience: At least one year in medical office scheduling, in an office setting, or at least one year in relevant experience or specialized Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator certification is required.
  • Education. High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency. Basic medical terminology required.

PERFORMANCE OUTCOMES:


  • Assists FRED with assignment of breaks, lunch hours, and personnel time off for all MSS Personnel in order to ensure phone coverage and mínimal impact to the appointing service.
  • Assists FRED with initial training for all new MSS personnel, ensures all personnel are abiding by protocols set forth by the Government, 61 MDS guidelines, and DoD instructions.
  • Monitors the Governmentfurnished supplies and equipment in the appointing section; coordinates with FRED to obtain necessary supplies/equipment.
  • Assists FRED in the research and resolution of appointing service patient/personnel complaints or concerns as well as performance metrics.
  • Attends monthly clinic Access to Care meetings.

UNIQUE MILITARY HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS/PROCEDURES:


  • Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA).
  • Composite Health Care systems (CHCS) and/or MHS GENESIS.
  • Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS)
  • Military Filing System by sponsor social security number, terminal digit order, colorcoded and blocked filing system.
  • Contents of a military medical record, layout, sections, family member prefix designation, forms
used in a MTF, and medical record tracking procedures.
