The STEM Justice Project Leader is responsible for seamless implementation of the STEM Justice facilitation programming.This role leverages project management and strong communication skills to help STEM Justice programs execute administrative and programmatic priorities both within SMM programs and departments as well as with partners.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and lead internal and external STEM Justice workshops, curriculum development and ongoing coaching.
Represent the Science Museum of Minnesota (SMM) with external partners and clients and identify new opportunities for client-facing STEM Justice work.
Work with KAYSC educators to ensure all curriculum aligns with STEM Justice principles and practices.Support and promote Science Museum wide STEM Justice training and onboarding for new educators in the KAYSC.Collaborate with KAYSC Intern Program Manager and HS Coordinator to coordinate pathway opportunities for graduating seniors to become a STEM Justice Facilitator.
Coordinate and facilitate contracted KAYSC alumni to lead STEM Justice workshopsServe as lead for all STEM Justice training (gameplan, structure, google architecture)Identify scheduling for workshops and contractor work scheduleSchedule and facilitate monthly facilitator check insEnsure timely management of workshop roster and program dataLead STEM Justice facilitator recruitment and training from within the KASYC alumni network.
Support the STEM Justice movement community of practice (bi-monthly meeting, newsletter making)Coordinate, plan, and facilitate open enrollment opportunities throughout the year.
Lead the coordination, planning, and organization of various programs, projects, and events ensuring to create an atmosphere that is centered in justice, youth vision, and belonging for all participants and guests.
Work with staff, volunteers, partners, presenters and donors to implement programs and events.Contribute to STEM Justice project budgeting and systems implementation.
Respond promptly to internal and external requests regarding programs and events.
Manage the receiving, distribution, organization and storage of program materials.
Manage events and projects logistics, including:
securing room reservations, reserving and setting up meeting rooms, setting up technology, coordinating with external guests, resetting meeting/event spaces at the conclusion of event, developing, maintaining and distributing schedules/calendars for programming and events, working with parking ramp, operations, marketing and PR to ensure that systems are in place for all program and event logistics.
Support projects and programming as needed including:
supporting CFESC cross-department events.
Help to manage data collection/evaluation activities for special events/projects.
Purchase, maintain and conserve inventory of program and event materials.
Help to develop materials to assist all internal departments with SMM to support programs and events.
Help to manage transaction processing and maintaining records for event purchase orders, and other program and event expenses.
Manage communication to ensure consistent, coherent, and effective messaging to promote the positive positioning of the STEM Justice program.
Maintain and coordinate the STEM Justice admin email account. Answer and return emails and phone calls promptly.
Work with CFESC directors, CFESC Coordinator, Crew Managers, IDEAL project Leads and program participants to improve social media, website, and other program and/or event messaging.
Work with CFESC directors, CFESC Coordinator, Crew Managers, IDEAL project Leads and other CFESC program staff to maintain events and activities digital calendar.
IDEAL Center WorkProvide program support for IDEAL Center programs through facilitation and coordination support in partnership with the CFESC Operations Coordinator (iPAGE, PAGE, HHMI, MPS, MN DCT)Support module development of IDEAL Center programming through embedding portions of the STEM Justice framework when appropriate.

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma required (at least some college preferred); May substitute equivalent combination of education and experience, as determined by hiring manager
Required Experience/Proficiencies:
3+ years of group facilitation skillsDemonstrated leadership experience.
Knowledge of Equity Curricula and STEM trends, practices and standards for local, state, and national initiatives.
Experience working with a variety of identity/cultural groups on creating equitable and inclusive environments.
Demonstrated knowledge for design and delivery of professional development programs in a variety of forms such as virtual, in person, hybrid, for adult learners.
Evident passion for/interest in Equity and Science and/or Education.Demonstrated organizational acumen and detail orientation at a high level.
Demonstrated ability to read, understand, interpret, and apply ideas from complex academic texts.
Demonstrated grants implementation experience.
Requires a high level of intellectual acuity, creative thinking, systems-thinking, and professionalism.
Demonstrated an ability to manage multiple deadlines; to be proactive, productive, and efficient, to work with little to no supervision while handling shifting priorities, and to make high level decisions in a variety of contexts and under pressure.
Experience implementing projects or programming.Experience in facilitating programming for groups.

Work Environment:
Work schedule involves occasional evenings and weekends.
Will be working primarily in the CFESC offices at the Science Museum of Minnesota with occasional field trips and external meetings.
Starting Compensation:
