Wurzak Hotel Group is looking for an experienced
Director of Security & Valet Operations to support the oversight of all aspects of security and valet services of our stylish and contemporary lifestyle brand hotel,
The Dalmar & Element located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida.


The Dalmar offers upscale accommodations with a variety of dining options including a rooftop bar with panoramic views of the city, a vibrant lobby bar, and a restaurant serving creative cuisine. The Director of Security & Valet's primary objective will be to ensure the safety and security of our guests and employees alike across our variety of upscale spaces, while providing top-notch valet services that enhance the overall guest experience from arrival through departure.


General Requirements

  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and protocols to safeguard the hotel, its guests, and employees.
  • Manage a team of security personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Identify, investigate, or resolve security breaches. Conduct regular security assessments and risk audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, threats, fire alarms, and/or incidents, following emergency response procedures.
  • Oversee the valet parking operations, including staffing, training, and ensuring efficient and courteous service.
  • Maintain accurate records of security incidents, accidents, and other relevant information, and prepare detailed reports as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to security and valet services.
  • Ensure that packages and receivables are safely delivered to recipients.
  • Ensure maintenance problems are promptly reported through proper channels.
  • Any other tasks/duties as requested by management.
  • The Company operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week._

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Hospitality Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel security management or a similar role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, employees, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in security systems and technologies, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Knowledge of local laws and regulations governing security operations and valet services.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
