Summary:

The Specialty Strip Maintenance Supervisor will perform and manage the specific maintenance requirements of the Specialty Strip Business Unit.

This hands-on maintenance position will work within the two Steel Warehouse Business Units located on Tucker Drive in South Bend.

The position will report directly to the Specialty Strip Production Supervisor, with dotted line reporting to the Steel Warehouse Maintenance Superintendent.


Responsibilities:


  • Hands on preventative maintenance and repair on all Specialty Strip business unit equipment, including Slitter SN and material handling equipment.
  • Overtime, including weekends and emergency calls, as needed.
  • Manage spare parts and inventory.
  • Manage and maintain the Specialty Strip tool room
  • Manage outside vendor service.
  • Implementation of preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Work with the management team to justify capital expenditures.
  • Communicate and work with millwrights as provided by the South Bend Maintenance Superintendent for multiperson job requirements.
  • Initiate and complete projects to improve efficiency and quality, and /or reduce cost.
  • Track, analyze, and improve key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, downtime, etc.
  • Maintenance of appropriate equipment records and history
  • Environmental and Safety Compliance

Preferred Skills:

Previous experience in cold rolling, annealing, and slitting is a plus

Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems

Experience with integrated drives with PLC control

Experience with diagnosing electrical problems with 24-volt, 120 volt, and 480 volts systems

Reading schematics, blueprints, manuals, etc.

Fabrication skills

Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks

Team oriented and self-driven

Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role


Education & Experience:

Associate degree preferred in mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent experience in the manufacturing environment in a managerial role
High level of computer skills
Organized and motivated
Experience in troubleshooting, monitoring, and general maintenance, and repair.
Experience in Lean, Kaizen, and 5s is a plus
Experience working in a facility with multiple shifts
Experience in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) E-Maintenance or PLEX

Note:
This is not an entry-level position. Previous experience in a similar role is required.

Pay:
From $70,000.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
