Definition:


  • Performs all activities necessary for sterile processing of reusable instruments at the Primary Care Clinics. Keeps inventory of all equipment. On an ongoing basis, distributes instruments to multiple departments in the organization maintaining supplies at established levels at all times.

Reports to: NEVHC Infection Control Coordinator (ICC)
  • Technical supervision will be by Site Administrator at SFHC for day to day operations

Qualifications:


  • 1.High school diploma or GED, and completion of a State approved program for Medical Assistants.
2.

Three months of Sterile Processing experience or equivalent preferred, or mist complete Purdue University HSCI 22000:
Principles of Central Service online course within 1 year of hire. Online course will be paid for by NEVHC.
3.Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Must be able to work independently.
4.Must be able to communicate tactfully and empathetically, with cultural sensitivity; with staff and patients.
5.Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), electronic health record systems, and database systems.
6.Typing/data entry skills sufficient to meet production requirements.
7.Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and others.
8.Effective work organization skills.
9.Ability to work effectively as a team player.
10.Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment.
11.Sensitivity to the different cultures represented among members and staff.
12.Demonstrated proficiency with the electronic health record database within three months of attending training session(s).

  • 13.Fluency in English (speaks, read and write).
14.Fluency in Spanish (speaks, translate, read and write).
