JOB SUMMARY:


The HR Generalist I provides support to several critical human resources functions including, training, performance management, employee relations, employee engagement and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

This position reports to the Employee Relations & DEI Manager and assists with the coordination of trainings, employee relations, employee engagement initiatives and performance management programs.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Assist with the planning, creation, and implementation of each year's training courses and materials.
  • Maintain tracking mechanisms for completed training for all employees including but not limited to; courses completed, pre-and post-training evaluations and feedback on instructional effectiveness.
  • Assess training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, instructors, and customer representatives.
  • Review and assess training materials prepared by instructors.
  • Coordinate training schedules for all departments, track and create reports on outcomes of all training and maintain training records for the company.
  • Provide administrative support to training programs as needed including the support of the LMS module within the HRIS.
  • Assist with investigations related to employee complaints.
  • Assist in the coordination of performance management programs, including the support of the related modules within the HRIS.
  • Provide support to all employee appreciation/recognition efforts.
  • Serve on collaborative projects and workgroups, including facilitating, developing timelines and program plans and reporting results.
  • Participate in site visits to stations, garages and other work locations.
  • Assist with data analysis of trainings, performance management, DEI initiatives and employee engagement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required. Related Human Resources experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirement.
  • One (1) year of experience as a Human Resources Generalist or related HR experience.
  • Experience with the development, implementation and/or administration of training.
  • Experience with performance management or leadership development preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


  • Knowledge of principles and practices of training and development.
  • Knowledge of EEO principles and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of employment and labor laws.
  • Knowledge of MCTS operations.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems with the ability to monitor and maintain information.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office
  • Ability to use presentation software.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:


  • Work is frequently conducted office or similar indoor environment relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards.
  • Physical requirements are those described as light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects.
