    Job Summary

    Latham Marine has an immediate need for a Lathe and Mill Machinist in Fort Lauderdale Florida. For over 40 years Latham Marine has been the leader in hydraulic steering systems for both high performance and pleasure boats. Our manufacturing facility includes CNC mills, CNC lathes, a CNC plasma cutter, and a full manual machine shop. For more information on our products please visit

    Latham Marine is a family owned company which provides many opportunities to work in all aspects of the business. The ideal candidate should be a quick learner who is able to work in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control for the effective manufacture of metal part
    • Able to interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations, and setup
    • Participate and provide input in design and project meetings
    • Must be organized and detail-oriented
    • General knowledge of manual machining with the ability to hold a plus/minus .001 tolerance

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years general machine shop experience
    • Ability to inspect parts to print tolerances
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Good communication skills in English (both verbal & written).
    • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and / or work instructions.
    • Must be able to lift and push up to 50 lbs.
    • Experience using power tools
    • Familiarity with machining processes
