The Office of Public Safety (OPS) was launched in 2024 to make communities safer, improve public perceptions of safety, and help communities heal from the traumas of violence.

In pursuit of those goals, OPS coordinates multi-disciplinary public safety efforts across City government and with community and institutional stakeholders.

Currently, OPS has over 100 staff and is home to five individual offices:


Office of Criminal Justice, Office of Safe Neighborhoods, Office of Reentry Partnerships, Office of the Victim Advocate, Town Watch Integrated Services, and Office of Community Partnerships.


Job Description Position Summary**Provide comprehensive case management services for the adult or juvenile reentry participants as they navigate the reentry process. This position will provide case management and transitional management to persons currently incarcerated as well as persons who have been released from incarceration and need a continuum of care. Work with participants using and Integrated Case Management process that will orient and assess participant readiness for programming, identifying strengths and challenges to achieving goals and collaborating with participants in formulating a strong reentry plan. Work closely with other program staff both in the jails and prisons as well as other community partners to monitor progress, and coordinate referral support. This position will also work with external partners (such as literacy, behavioral health and housing providers, benefits, etc) to ensure that services are coordinated, and participants are able to fully engage in a holistic reentry process.


Essential Functions

  • Provide case management services including but not limited to personal development plan, referral for supportive services, outreach and connection to community resources to address barriers to employment and life management challenges
  • Assist with the facilitation of orientations, workshops and other initiatives both individual or group
  • Conduct individual assessments; tool may vary based on program. Determine eligibility based on contractual requirements in accordance with established criteria
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with others, including training partners, correctional staff, program participants, probation/parole officers and other collaborating partner staff
  • Provide information and referral to community resources to help participants address their employment and life management barriers that could affect ability to achieve career goal
  • Assess participants' training readiness and make recommendations documenting any concerns or potential barriers
  • Work closely with other team members, communicating regularly, attending training and team meetings, etc.
  • Work closely with the NRC's in continuing care for impacted persons
  • Other activities as they arise to support ORP efforts to increase returning citizens' access to more individualized and higher quality services to address health, addiction, employment, education, economic mobility, and/or career pathways
  • Perform any additional duties as described by the Office of Reentry Partnerships related to the goals and activities of the Office
