    Burns is currently seeking a licensed Principal Electrical Engineer to join our rapidly growing Power & Utilities team in Philadelphia, Pa.

    SUMMARYPerforms technical oversight of identified engineering projects within a specific specialization or market sector with high levels of complexity.

    Formulates and guides the attempt to solve problems consisting of a high level of difficulty and marked importance to the organization.

    May be responsible for the development of a niche technical service.

    Is aware of the Company's goals and uses this knowledge to identify ways to advance the Company's ability to produce successful projects.

    Primary focus may be inclusive of high-profile clients or projects. Performs duties similar to the Senior Project Engineer but for complex or specialized projects or for specific clients.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESCoordinate project work with all engineering staff and consultants.
    Trouble-shoot and provide design and/or construction solutions.
    Applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses.

    Utilize thorough knowledge of current technology to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on projectsPerform complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.

    Assist in recruiting, retaining and developing top industry talent.
    Establish and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with all employees, clients and other stakeholders.
    Individual investigations into complex technical problems. Quality control through project review at various stages throughout project design. Provides subject matter expertise to company clients on technical issues. Represents firm at technical conferences. Represents firm at client meetings.

    Assists in the performance management process by providing feedback to the Project Manager for performance evaluations Works with the Project Manager to determine technical staffing needs for the group.

    Assures financial and technical project success and maintains a high level of client satisfaction.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESInformal task supervision of CAD Operators, Designers, Junior Associates, Associates, Engineers and Engineer IIs at the direction of the Project Manager.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEProfessionally Licensed Engineer with a Bachelor's (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering degree.
    A minimum 15-25 years related experience.
    Client interfacing experience is required.
    Experience working on Medium Voltage Campus Distribution, Substation, Solar & Battery Energy Storage projects is required.
    CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSProfessional Engineering License. LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

    Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general publicMATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as logarithms, higher order linear equations, calculus and economic analysis.

    Ability to apply knowledge to electrical, mechanical, or civil/structural design problems.
    REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    COMPUTER SKILLSTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge/ability to learn MS Outlook Contact Management systems; MS Excel Spreadsheet software and MS Word, MS PowerPoint Word Processing software.
