    SUMMARY

    This is position is compensated with salary + commission.

    Examines, evaluates and recommends approval of residential mortgage applications, including purchases, refinances, construction and pre-approvals. Consistently provides outstanding and professional financial services. Exceeds customer expectations and expands financial relationships by actively selling and cross-selling quality banking products. Keeps up with mortgage loan trends and developments and stays connected with other financial institutions, lenders and advisors. Adheres to customer confidentiality standards and regulations at all times, including time away from the workplace.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Interviews applicants, accepts on-line applications and requests and gathers all required documentation needed to process loan applications.
    • Corresponds with or interviews applicants or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
    • Ensures loan files are complete with all required documentation.
    • Packages and analyzes applicants' financial status, credit and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan. Submits application to managers for verification and recommendation. Confers with manager to aid in resolving application problems.
    • Forwards competed file to underwriter(s) for underwriting, rate locks and loan approval.
    • Cross-sells and makes referrals for other bank products and services.
    • Responds to customer inquiries regarding mortgage rates, products, etc.
    • Calls on real estate brokers, accountants, builders and attorneys to build and maintain business relationships and to generate referrals.
    • Coordinates homebuyer seminars and workshops for existing and potential customers.
    • Attends chamber of commerce events, expos and other related business development events to develop and enhance potential referrals.
    • Other duties may be assigned.
    QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Incumbents in this position must be S.A.F.E. Act Compliant and registered by the NMLS in order to take residential loan applications or negotiate residential loan rates.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates Degree or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred. At least three years of real estate origination experience. Must possess basic mortgage underwriting skills. Must have knowledge of FNMA and Mass Housing regulations, other lending compliance regulations, and underwriting guidelines.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as memos, loan documents, contracts, simple financial statements, disclosures, training manuals, help screens and policy and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers of the Bank.
