Mortgage Specialist - Bilingual Spanish/English

As a bilingual Mortgage Specialist, you will work closely with our internal team, our members, and the communities we serve, to help drive sales of our mortgage programs and products.

Perform a variety of duties relating to the internal sales and origination of real estate lending products, including specialized programs, and in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions

  • Respond to assigned internal leads through a variety of channels, which includes inperson, telephone, and online.
  • Counsel applicants on credit and affordability, as well as conduct prequalification analysis. Maintain contact with loan applicants throughout the loan process.
  • Explain interest rates, loan terms, and payment amounts to applicants. Discuss and obtain credit related items required for loan approval.
  • Adhere to member verification procedures, compliance, credit union policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of credit union products, policies, and procedures by attending all training, informational meetings and required compliance courses.
Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred; College degree desired.
  • Minimum of 2 years mortgage origination and/or customer service experience strongly preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Certifications

  • Demonstrated fluency in both Spanish and English. Experience using both languages within a professional capacity strongly preferred.
  • Active Mortgage Loan Originator ("MLO") license with National Mortgage Loan Service registry in accordance with credit union's S.A.F.E Act policies and procedures strongly preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of state and federal mortgage regulations.
  • Exceptional communication skills are a must via the telephone, inperson, or written communication. Ability to establish rapport quickly with prospects, develop relationships, influence stakeholders, and serve as conduit of information and decisions.
  • Experienced with office software including loan origination systems and contact management tools.
  • Compensation is a base salary plus commission. Exceptional follow through, organizational skills and sales instincts are a must.
  • All new hires are required to onboard for a minimum of 30 days onsite in Chelsea.

Work Environment:
Once initial Onboarding is completed,

  • Position is eligible for

Hybrid Work Agreement:
minimum of 3 days/week in office. (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and another day to be worked out within department).

  • Position is eligible for
Compressed Work Agreement (4x10)

  • Some travel required (branch locations, offsite meetings, seminars, community events)
  • Compensation is base salary plus incentives

All new hires are required to onboard for a minimum of 30 days on-site in Chelsea.


Metro's Hybrid Work Policy requires three in-person days for all employees whose primary office location is 200 Revere Beach Parkway.

All employees will be required to report to work at 200 RBP every Tuesday and Wednesday.

With approval from their manager, employees may choose the third day that works best for their own individual needs and schedules.
