Dr.

Maria Montessori, Italy's first female doctor, opened Casa dei Bambini (Children's House) in order to provide a high-quality education to low-income families in Rome.

Job Duties:


  • Ensure the health and safety of all children and staff members while on the school's campus
  • Perform administrative duties including copying, scanning, and mailing
  • Track dates, deadlines, and maintain the calendar
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls
  • Maintaining office supplies, school supplies for educators, and any other supplies needed for classrooms and office
  • Maintain all student files. Children's files are confidential but are open to the inspection of the Department of Social Services.
  • Assist educators in supervising children using bathrooms, assist during naps and in the play area or inside the classroom to meet ratio requirements.
  • Ability to substitute for teaching staff in the event of their absence.
  • Maintaining good family and client relations, assist with scheduling tours, and confirming tours for prospective families
  • Preparing enrollment packets for potential families, setting up children's files, and ensuring all necessary forms are filled out and returned prior to child's start date
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned

Position Qualifications:


  • At least 6 ECE Units Required
  • Proven office management, administrative or assistant experience
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • Knowledge of office management responsibilities, systems, and procedures
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills and knowledge of office software packages
  • TB Clearance
  • CPR and First Aid certified completed upon first 90 days of hire
  • Physical and TB test
  • Proof of immunizations
  • Valid Mandated Training Certificate
  • Experience in working with the Children's Council of SF an added advantage.
  • Possession of a valid Site Supervisor Permit acceptable to Community Care Licensing Division of the Dept of Social Service, California a distinct advantage.

License/Certification:

  • CPR Certification (preferred)
  • Child Development Associate Certification (preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

  • San Francisco, CA 94109: Relocate before starting work (required)
