Position:
Electrical Engineer - Renewable Energy

Location:
Sheffield

Salary:
Up to £50,000 (office based)

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement electrical systems for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

Conduct feasibility studies, system analysis, and technical assessments to ensure the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems while adhering to relevant industry standards and regulations.

Perform LV (Low Voltage) and MV (Medium Voltage) electrical system installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting in accordance with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

Participate in the development and review of electrical designs, ensuring compliance with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and other relevant codes.

Provide technical expertise in the selection of electrical equipment and components for renewable energy projects, ensuring they meet the requirements of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

Assist in the evaluation of new technologies and innovations in the field of renewable energy and integrate them into project designs, while ensuring they meet regulatory standards.

Contribute to project planning and coordination, ensuring timelines and budgets are met, with a focus on regulatory compliance, including the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

Collaborate with external suppliers and contractors to ensure the successful execution of electrical engineering projects while meeting the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and resolving any electrical engineering issues that may arise while maintaining compliance with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Proven experience in LV and MV electrical systems in the renewable energy sector.

Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, and energy storage systems.

Proficiency in electrical design and analysis software tools.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and industry standards, including the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desire to work on innovative and sustainable projects in the renewable energy industry.

Desirable Skills:
Previous experience in electrical system design for renewable energy projects.

Familiarity with CAD software for electrical design.

Project management skills and experience.

Professional engineering certification or license.
