Lead Medical Assistant

Job Purpose:
The Lead Medical Assistant provides staff training and performance management support.

the lead medical assistant is a second-level resource for patient concerns, addressing and resolving prior escalation to the clinic manager.

Additionally, this role provides coverage for clinic staff and completes duties of both Patient Engagement Specialists and Medical Assistants.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise day to day operations of clinic floor including medical assistants (MA) and patient engagement specialists (PES)
  • Guide MA and PES in prioritizing clinic needs
  • Train, coach, and support MA and PES in improving clinic optimization.
  • Complete MA and PES audits and performance evaluations
  • Address patient escalations and provide resolution.

Requirements:


  • Medical Assistant (MA) certificate
  • Valid and current CPR, First Aid Certification, and an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card
  • 5+ years of Medical Assistant (MA) experience
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of, and the ability to use, electronic record keeping systems (EMR, billing software, insurance carrier portals, spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Proven track record of managing a team of 10 or more a plus
