Under the general direction of the Workers' Compensation Compliance Manager within the Medical Unit of the Division of Workers' Compensation, the Supervising Workers' Compensation Consultant incumbent will monitor policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current statutes and regulations and effective deliver of benefits for injured workers.

Oakland, CA 94612

The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting. Air conditioned, high rise building with elevator access, cubicle with natural and artificial lighting. Telework, when appropriate, may be approved at the discretion of the Workers' Compensation Compliance Manager.

Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge of applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and codes relative to workers' compensation.

  • Knowledge of the California Workers' Compensation system.
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation case management, investigation and statistics.
  • Excellent writing skills to prepare comprehensive reports and summaries.
  • Supervisory experience in training, performance evaluation and oversight of staff.
  • Analyzing complex claims to make recommendations or develop strategies to bring them to resolution.
  • Experience researching, analyzing, and implementing applicable statutes, regulations, and policy.
  • Experience communicating effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working collaboratively and building partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Experience effectively managing multiple priorities.
