Eli Lilly and Company is in search of an Automation Engineer to join our team in Boston, MA.




Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to shaping the automation strategy at Lilly's new Boston facility, collaborating with scientists and external partners.
  • Work closely with scientists to transform manual processes into automated workflows, ensuring reliability through programming and validation.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of automated workflows for various molecular biology processes.
  • Provide training on automation instruments to scientists and offer advanced troubleshooting support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage project execution efficiently.
  • Oversee equipment scheduling, service agreements, and maintenance activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in life sciences or related field with 7+ years of experience in high-throughput laboratory instrumentation, or Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Hands-on experience with automated liquid handling robotics platforms and integrated systems.
  • Proficiency in establishing high-throughput analytics and tools.
  • Ability to lead script development projects in collaboration with lab scientists.
  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures, molecular techniques, and programming languages.
  • Experience with version control and issue management tools.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in time management and working both independently and in a team setting.

Additional Information:

  • This role may involve occasional travel and mentoring responsibilities.
  • Position based in Boston Seaport, MA.
