    As an SDE, your role is pivotal in maintaining the robust and innovative solutions of our team. You will work on complex challenges in existing and new development initiatives, focusing on areas with ambiguity. Your goal is to design and develop software systems that are secure, maintainable, scalable, and extendable.

    You will develop an understanding of the business impact of your systems and make responsible trade-offs between the short-term operational needs and long-term business objectives.

    Key job responsibilities

    Write high-quality, efficient, and testable production code.

    Build highly available, secure distributed systems at Amazon scale

    Be an end-to-end technical owner of the services you build, including development, testing and support.


    Make a direct contribution to planning, design, implementation, testing, operations, and process improvement as a member of an Agile team.

    Be part of growing, tight-knit team within a wider community of experienced and knowledgeable engineers.

    Basic Qualifications

    3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

    2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

    Experience programming with at least one software programming language

    Preferred Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

    3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

    Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role

    Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

    The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market.

    Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

    Amazon is a total compensation company.

    Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
