    Description

    Job Title: Data Center Engineer

    Location: Chicago, IL (1 day in office per week)

    Client: LFG

    Duration: 12 months with a high chance of transitioning to a full-time position

    Pay Rate: $45 per hour on W2


    Note:

    • Top 5 skills: Installation, Cable management, NLyte, ServiceNow, Rack&Stack
    • No cloud experience required
    • Elk Grove Village, IL is the only preferred location
    • Temp to Perm opportunity
    • Cisco Certifications preferred

    General Purpose of Job:

    The Data Center Critical Facilities Engineer will be in charge of Data Center Engineering at Lincoln Data Centers and colocation facilities. Responsibilities include risk management, maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and reporting metrics. Provide support for core infrastructure devices both onsite and remotely. Comply with colocation shipment rules, assist with installations, maintenance, and emergency services on various critical systems. Ensure the highest level of operation for the data center infrastructure is maintained.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Oversee maintenance on critical facility components
    • Engage vendors for repairs and installations
    • Operate and maintain various systems
    • Implement energy efficiency measures
    • Coordinate vendors and maintenance activities
    • Identify Single Points of Failure and provide solutions
    • Respond to on-site incidents and perform Root Cause Analysis

    Additional Position Responsibilities:

    • Stay current with industry trends
    • Make positive contributions to the team
    • Perform other required duties

    Education and Experience:

    • 2-4 years of Data Center Engineering experience
    • Experience in HVAC, Electrical Engineering, or similar fields
    • Experience in mission-critical environments
    • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
    • Ability to communicate effectively with contractors

    Language Skills:

    Strong written and verbal communication skills


    Mathematical Skills:

    Apply mathematical concepts to practical solutions


    Reasoning Ability:

    Analyze complex information and solve problems


    Other Skills and Abilities:

    • Collaborate with team members to resolve facility incidents
    • Inform stakeholders of inventory needs

    Certifications:

    No Licensure or Certification Required


    Physical Demands:

    Employee is required to sit, stand, walk, reach, and work over 40 hours per week. Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs of equipment.
