- Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing.
- RN with active license, no restrictions (license in appropriate state).
- One (1) year of nursing experience, preferably, in an ambulatory surgery center.
- CPR certification and/or ACLS-PALS certification (as required by Center).
- Strong ethical and moral character references.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must have a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle records check, drug screen, and Office of Inspector General (OIG) Exclusions Database Search.
- Must be able to travel to other office locations as needed.
- Must be able to carry and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to speak clearly in small group settings.
- This position will require sitting for long periods of time, walking, standing, bending, and walking, as well as using fine motor skills, such as finger dexterity for typing, and using small hand tools.
- This position could be exposed to loud noises, frequent phone conversations, and requires average to above average visual acuity and hearing.
- Most of this job will be spent indoors in a climate-controlled environment.

SUMMARY
Under the direction of the designated Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse is responsible for professional, direct patient care in the nurse role. The Staff Nurse will utilize the nursing process within their scope of practice to assess, develop nursing diagnosis, develop plan of care, implement plan of care, monitor for effectiveness, and adjust appropriately, for patient's plan of care. The Staff Nurse is responsible for care, in areas assigned, within the Surgery Center, as needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Position requires excellent communication skills and an understanding of ophthalmic practice and patient care. Must demonstrate attention to detail and documentation. Must be even tempered, ethical, and good humored. Must interface with all RMLS departments, physicians, and personnel.
