- Provides hospital-based ophthalmic care and consultation in an academic medical center with Level 1 trauma center designation
- Participates in teaching activities, including conferences and lectures, bedside teaching, and rounds for medical students and/or residents, and continuing medical education
- Advances clinical knowledge through scholarly and research efforts
- Performs a wide variety of ophthalmologic surgical procedures
- Provides on-call coverage, as scheduled
- Provides post-discharge care in the outpatient clinic
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
- Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
- Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Statement of Faculty Professional Responsibility
- Board Certification in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology
- Strong work ethic and good team player
- Experience in teaching medical students and residents
- Experience in conducting research and publishing scientific reports
- Regional or emerging national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher
- M.D. / D.O.
- Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency training in ophthalmology
- Texas Medical License or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas
