EVO Transportation, Inc.has been operating for over 55 years providing high level transportation services to a variety of shippers throughout the East Coast and Midwest regions.
Due to our continuous and positive growth, we are looking to fill the position of Operations Manager in Hunt Valley, Maryland at one of our largest and most important clients.
We are seeking a strong individual to manage our team of drivers (38 Full time and 20+ part-time employees) and fleet of equipment (14 power units and 150+ trailers) while providing excellent customer service.
The company is seeking a highly motivated, forward-thinking, and customer-focused Operations Manager to help support this key area of our business.
The position is responsible for many areas of business operations including safety, compliance, team leading, human resources, scheduling, customer service, and maintenance.
This position is essential to the efficient running of our operation.Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
Operations
- Manage a team of 38 full time CDL Drivers including:
- Recruiting
- Training
- Coaching/Leading
- Safety/Compliance
- Scheduling
- Performance Evaluation
- Create efficient and effective scheduling/routing to minimize road miles and driver hours.
- Manage a fleet of 14 Class A Power Units, over 130 Dry Van Trailers, and 30 Reefer Trailers.
- Lead the requisition of equipment maintenance and replacement when necessary.
- Develop processes and coach drivers on techniques for safe working operations.
- Complete special projects as needed.
Customer Service
- Develop strategies to reduce waste in our customer's supply chain.
- Manage and troubleshoot daily issues (including evenings and weekends) to satisfy the customer.
- Build key relationships with customer personnel at each of the various customer locations.
- Provide additional staffing and equipment as needed.
Human Resources
- Facilitate a safe working environment.
- Train driver staff on account specifics.
- Manage driver staff according to company policy and contractual parameters.
- Complete accident/injury reports according to company policy.
- Issue controlled substance and alcohol testing according to company policy.
- At least 10 years of experience managing a team of drivers.
- A firm understanding of DOT, DOL, FMCSA laws and regulations.
- The desire and ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with people at all levels of the organization, customers, and vendors.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- The ability to make logĂstical decisions based upon customer needs.
- The ability to proactively solve problems and rapidly handle change in a growing organization.
- The ability to achieve results by using a positive approach to motivate our staffed drivers.
