Introduction to the Company
Home & Health Care Management is the oldest home health care agency in Northern California.

Our agency specializes in delivering comprehensive in-home care and case management for older adults, children, and those living with disabilities across many counties.

We use a matrix of Medi-Cal, Medicare and targeted health programs to find solutions that work for our clients.


The Role
We have an opportunity for a Clerical Support role to become part of a multi-disciplinary team of nurses, social workers and other health care providers that assist caregivers and clients to remain living independently in their own home under the MediCal HCBA program (Home & Community Based Alternatives)

You enjoy working in a fast-paced office where your efforts to provide excellent customer service are noticed and rewarded.

You are detail-oriented, deadline-focused and enjoy composing letters, processing paperwork, scanning, indexing, and auditing medical records.


You enjoy speaking with clients on the phone and assisting them to access health care programs and understand what it means to hold confidential information securely.


You are a self-starter, who can see the bigger picture or end game even though today did not go as planned.


Duties:

To perform this job you must be able to perform the following duties successfully:

  • Process large volumes of paperwork that is coming into the office electronically as well as the US Mail and upload the information into the client's medical record
  • Prepare correspondence to clients/patients, physicians, other health care providers
  • Assist our nurses and social workers in scheduling online visits and providing other clerical support functions
  • Assist with quality assurance process review of medical records, and audits
  • Make notes of meetings and create written minutes for distribution to the team
  • Verify MediCal Insurance coverage for clients as needed.
  • Provide relief for receptionist as needed with a multiline phone system.
  • Cross trained to all clerical support functions in the HCBA program
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Requirements:


  • Ability to work with others, at all levels within the organization, and collaborate effectively.
  • Aboveaverage interpersonal, problemsolving, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Professional behavior when on duty
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft office products including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to type 45 WPM with 5 or less errors
  • Critical thinking skills and willingness to learn new skills
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Eligible to be insured under our liability policy with a clean DMV report
  • Your own vehicle and proof of current auto insurance
  • COVID vaccinated or have a religious/medical exemption

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Certifications

  • General office environment with prior use of electronic health records helpful
  • One year+ of work experience as clerical support or data entry
  • Inquisitive nature and analytical skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Russian) language is a plus
  • Some college, or medical record certificate programs

Service Region/ Location:

This is not a remote role and requires you to work in our Chico office.


Schedule:

Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, with 1 hour for lunch 12pm-1pm.


Travel:

No travel is required except for possible future training to Redding or Sacramento up to twice per year.


Physical Requirements:


Conditional upon job offer is successfully passing a medical exam that tests amongst other things the ability to move, visual acuity, and hearing acuity.

Physical requirement for this role specifically include

  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, walks, and moves intermittently during working hours
  • Able to lift to 35 pounds without assistance
  • Able to drive intermittently

Compensation:

Pay range is $18 to $20 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

After 60 days of employment you will be eligible for health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, as well as Flexible Spending Account (FSA).


Leave accrues starting on your first day of employment, and you can take paid vacation, sick and holiday leave after 90 days.

Access to FSA is also available.

We offer a 401(k) matching up to 4% after 1 year of employment and 1,000 hours worked.

You will be reimbursed for any mileage you travel from the office.
