    Safepoint Insurance is a Property and Casualty insurance carrier based in Temple Terrace, FL.

    Location: Office in Tampa, FL.

    Job Summary

    The Commercial Claims Examiner position handles commercial property insurance claims on insured risks located in various states including but not limited to FL, LA, TX, MS, AL. Investigates and evaluates coverage, liability, and damages on assigned claims. Determines appropriate reserves and settles claims within designated monetary authority. In addition, this position assists the corporate claims team with special projects as assigned.

    Responsibilities

    • Investigate and evaluate coverage, liability, and damages on assigned claims
    • Determine appropriate reserves and settlement values
    • Resolve claims within designated monetary authority
    • Interview and correspond with policyholders, public adjusters, and attorneys
    • Approve or deny adjuster and contractor estimates of damage and loss amounts
    • Prepare written reports of investigation, coverage, and damages within CMS
    • Draft denial letters for Claim Manager review
    • Investigate and pursue subrogation opportunities
    • Maintain accurate and complete files
    • Other tasks and projects as assigned
    Essential Functions
    • Verify, investigate, and evaluate coverage, liability, and damages on assigned claims and determine appropriate reserves and settlement values. Adjust all claims within the regulatory guidelines for the state where the claim originates from.
    • Effectively manage Claims Systems to accurately maintain commercial files and diaries
    • Deliver exceptional customer service through professional and timely communication including telephone, email, and written correspondence
    • Direct defense counsel on files and manage expenses
    Qualifications
    • Florida All Lines Adjuster License (620 License) required, or Non-Resident All Lines Adjuster License (720 License) required
    • Associate Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. A combination of education and significant directly related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
    • At least 3 years of experience processing commercial lines property and casualty claims
    • Familiarity with Xactware products
    • Demonstrated ability to research, conduct proactive investigations and negotiate successful resolutions
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required
    • Demonstrated customer service focus
    • Excellent communication skills, ability to interact on a professional level with internal and external personnel and partners
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
    • Results driven with strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
    • English and Spanish speaking and writing skills preferred
