Rate of Pay:
$ 17.00-$19.50 per hour

Full-Time, Monday-Friday


Responsibilities:


  • Acts as primary contact and coordinator of daily workflow for the Medical Records Release team; trains current employees and new hires regarding company and department level policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Processes medical records requests in accordance with the internal department policies and procedures; prepares and quality controls documents to ensure HIPAA compliance; updates requests' status and other relevant details in assigned database system(s).
  • Releases confidential Protected Health Information (PHI) to patients, physicians, other health care facilities, and government entities as appropriate; ensures release is in accordance with applicable State and Federal regulations and internal departmental policies and procedures.
  • Interacts with patients and authorized third parties using various communication methods; attempts to resolve patient and/or thirdparty concerns; escalates complex or otherwise unresolved issues to supervisor.
  • Partners with the Medical Records Release team to complete assigned requests on time to achieve weekly and monthly production goals.
  • Maintains HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of information.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute.

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least six months of recent office experience required.
  • Experience in the medical field highly desired; recent experience in a medical office or setting strongly preferred.
