The Laboratory Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations in the Chemical and Physical Laboratories and is responsible for assuring all testing is performed in compliance with industry and customer standards in order certify product.
Your assignment:
- Supervises the daytoday operations of the Physical and Chemical Laboratories
- Trains and supervises the Lab Technicians
- Reviews production orders against customer requirement and assigns and plans required tests.
- Performs production testing as required to cover for absences or workload surges.
- Ensures test equipment and written procedures are compliant with industry and customer standards.
- Responsible for ensuring calibration and general upkeep of equipment and maintaining inventory of consumables
- Coordinates contracted outside laboratory testing.
- All other duties assigned
Your background:
- Associates in Quality, Engineering or Technical field preferred or relevant work experience in mechanical testing laboratory
- High school diploma required
- Working experience (minimum 5 years) in comparable roles
- Knowledgeable in all types of chemical and physical testing of steel preferred
- Knowledgeable in CNC machining preferred
- Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong background in Quality Assurance and Control preferred
- Supervisory or managerial experience preferred
