The Laboratory Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations in the Chemical and Physical Laboratories and is responsible for assuring all testing is performed in compliance with industry and customer standards in order certify product.

He/she also trains and supervises the Lab Technicians. The Lab Supervisor has general duties within the Quality department.


Your assignment:


  • Supervises the daytoday operations of the Physical and Chemical Laboratories
  • Trains and supervises the Lab Technicians
  • Reviews production orders against customer requirement and assigns and plans required tests.
  • Performs production testing as required to cover for absences or workload surges.
  • Ensures test equipment and written procedures are compliant with industry and customer standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring calibration and general upkeep of equipment and maintaining inventory of consumables
  • Coordinates contracted outside laboratory testing.
  • All other duties assigned

Your background:


  • Associates in Quality, Engineering or Technical field preferred or relevant work experience in mechanical testing laboratory
  • High school diploma required
  • Working experience (minimum 5 years) in comparable roles
  • Knowledgeable in all types of chemical and physical testing of steel preferred
  • Knowledgeable in CNC machining preferred
  • Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong background in Quality Assurance and Control preferred
  • Supervisory or managerial experience preferred
