Clinical Social Worker-School

Responsibilities and duties for SMHFC Clinical Social Worker-School:

  • Assist with student mental health concerns, behavioral concerns, utilizing school positive behavioral support (PBIS), academic and classroom support, consultation with teachers, parents and school administrators.
  • Review referrals for day and residential students and consult with team regarding admissions.
  • Attend weekly Admission meetings to be aware of discharges and admissions and share with team as appropriate.
  • Provide scheduled individual school adjustment therapy. (based on IEP and student need)
  • Facilitate social emotional learning (SEL) groups weekly.
  • Attend and provide verbal and written input in IEP and team meetings specific to assigned caseload and the clinical goals they have.
  • Meet with School Administrator weekly and as necessary to confer on the clinical/therapeutic needs of the school.
