    MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER with Security Clearance - naval air station pensacola, United States - Department of Defense

    Duties * You will ensure team is instructed on work requirements, sequence, procedures, and deadlines to be met. * You will ensure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). * You will demonstrate proper work methods. * You will check work in progress and when finished to see that instructions/requirements and deadlines are met.     * You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.

    * You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

    * You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. * This position may require travel from normal duty station to include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. * You may be required to work other than normal duty hours, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. * You may be required to work at a job site or location other than the permanently assigned location.

    Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

    Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

    This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Providing journey level trade oversight to Electricians, Air-Conditioning Mechanics, Heating/Boiler Plant Equipment Mechanics, Industrial Equipment Mechanics, Electronics Mechanics, Sheet Metal Mechanics, or Welders; 2) Planning, laying out, and completing installation, modification, and repair of systems; and 3) Interpreting building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering documents, drawings, and maintenance and repair manuals to plan work.
